Drove up through Victor and photographed the Mining Display, it was a glorious day and I was enjoying the sunshine! This display is on the corner of the Phantom Canyon Road which is also State Hwy 67/Cr 81. 67 heads down the Canyon into Canyon City, 81 takes you through Goldfield and back to 67 in the Gillette Flats area. Its a spectacular drive, either way! Enjoy!

Gettin' Hitched in the Countryside!
Well, getting hitched these days is a unique experience. We were out at a campout and lo and behold, up drives a couple of friends that I have known for some time, "What were they doing here?" I pondered out loud.....the ride was yesterday and we were just trying to figger out if we were going to ride again.
Halleleijuihahhahhaha
Eric brought his hitching gear, which consisted of a set of bagpipes and we all scrambled to get the bride fixed up with some local color of wildflowers and something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue......she was beautiful as she stood in the warming sun in the center of the campsite. The groom was primed and ready, the shotgun loaded, and we were pleasantly entertained by the ceremoney. It was great, and what a wonderful way to continue a pair of lives now joined as one!

Fall Rides
Getting ready to Ride!
I was fortunate enough to get together with my friends a couple of times this year before the snow to enjoy their company on the trail. These are pictures of the last of the High Mountain Fall rides, after this everyone pulls their shoes and kicks the ponies out to pasture for a couple of months of winter rest.

Ahhh Fall in Colorado! The smell of golden leaves composting in a bed of pine and duff....the crrrissspp sound of your horse's hooves as they tread on trails of gold......the air is clean and the skies are blue! There is nothing better than to gather with friends and hear the ring of laughter through the hills as the campfire crackles and the coffee boils, tales of trails rode and wished to be rode permeate the air.

At the water tank.
We gathered, reconnected, laughed, sang, and made merry through the deepening twilite.
Although our time was short, the fall swiftly moving into winter sleep, we look forward to another year of gathering around the campfire and reconnecting with old friends, and new.
